I decided to watch this movie because I’m a sucker for beauty. And that’s what Liam Hemsworth and Amber Heard will give you throughout this movie. Also, Harrison Ford is usually an amazing actor, but I think he falls a bit short in Paranoia. Apart from that, the story is ok. With small appearances by Julian McMahon (“Charmed”) and Josh Holloway (“Lost”).

Hemsworth plays Adam who tries very hard to make it as a corporate inventor. His father’s sick and broke and Adam needs money to help them get through. Then he gets blackmailed by his boss to spy on Jock Goddard (Harrison Ford), who turns out to be a slick son of a bitch. One of the things that had my attention at the getgo, was ‘the 1984-like big brother in the sky’-thing. Doesn’t matter where you are or what devices you have on you, they will hear or see you no matter what. So watch your back.

Then ofcourse, there’s a romance between Emma (Amber Heard) and Adam and a quite surprisingly (for me at least) great ending (not just because it was the end). All in all, this movie was fine, but try not to mind the details too much, because then you’ll figure out the flaws.

My rating: 7 out of 10.

My favorite quote: “Privacy. Absolute myth. There’s no such thing.”

My suggestion: like my previous movie review on “The Family“, don’t spend too much money on this movie, but if you have a chance to see it, please do. No hurry though, because there are so many better movies out there.
